Yes. Gumshoe's API lets you pull your audit data into another tool, and on the Pro plan you can also connect your AI tool directly to Gumshoe through our MCP connection, which is in beta.
How do I use the Gumshoe API?
The API returns data from your Projects and audits, including the Visibility Audit, Pulse Audit, Sentiment Audit, Content Audit, and Technical Audit, so you can feed it into whatever tool you work in. You can also create a Visibility Audit and start a run through the API.
API access is switched off by default. Ask for a human in chat, or email support@gumshoe.ai, to have it turned on for your company account. Once it's on, the API Keys option appears in your Workspace settings and you can generate a key. For what the API covers and how to set it up, see How Do I Find and Use My Gumshoe API Key?
What is the MCP connection, and who can use it?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT connect directly to a service and work with its data during a conversation. With it, you can ask questions about your Gumshoe audits and get answers pulled straight from your account, with no exporting or copying in between.
The MCP connection is in beta and is available on the Pro plan. If you have an active Pro plan, ask our Customer Success team for access to the beta: ask for a human in chat, or email support@gumshoe.ai.
During the beta, the connection works with your Visibility Audit data.
What if I'm on the Starter plan?
The MCP connection is part of Pro, along with the Content, Citation, and Sentiment Audits. To compare the plans, see What's included in the Starter and Pro Subscription plans? You can also export your Visibility Audit data, as described below.
Can I export my data instead?
Partly. Your Visibility Audit exports to CSV, JSON, or PDF, and the Conversations and Citations pages each have their own CSV export. See How Do I Export a Gumshoe Visibility Audit to JSON, PDF, or CSV?
The Content, Sentiment, and Technical Audits don't have an export option. For the details, see Can I export my Content, Sentiment, or Technical Audit?
If you only need Visibility Audit data once, or on an occasional basis, exporting is often quicker than setting up API access.
What should I do next?
If you're on Pro, ask for a human in chat to request access to the MCP beta, then start asking your AI tool about your Visibility Audit. If you'd rather work with the raw data, start with How Do I Find and Use My Gumshoe API Key?
