If you have a long list of personas, topics, or prompts you want to load into a Gumshoe Visibility Audit (formerly known as a report), our support team can upload them for you from the backend. Bulk upload is not self-serve yet, but we are happy to handle it for you.
How does the bulk upload process work?
- You can upload Personas, Topics, and Prompts to a Visibility Audit after it has been run once. Alternatively, you can initiate a new Visibility Audit in Gumshoe.
- Set your brand and focus. Continue through the wizard until you reach the Personas or Topics & Prompts step, then stop.
- Send your Visibility Audit URL and your formatted CSVs to support.
Our team processes bulk uploads, so they are not instant. We will get your prompts and personas in as quickly as we can.
How do I reach support for a bulk upload?
The fastest way is to open the chat widget in the bottom right corner of any Gumshoe page and ask for a human. You can attach your CSVs directly to that conversation. You can also email everything to support@gumshoe.ai.
How should I format the CSVs?
We need plain UTF-8 comma-delimited CSVs. If you are exporting from Excel outside the US, choose File > Save As > "CSV UTF-8 (Comma delimited)". The default "CSV" option in some locales writes semicolons, which our importer cannot read. Google Sheets exports always use commas, so it is a safer source.
What columns does the Personas CSV need?
- name: the persona label (for example, "Cinema-Obsessed Suburbanite").
- description: the full persona bio. Include role, goals, pain points, decision-making context, and anything else that shapes how the AI models should respond as this persona.
What columns does the Prompts and Topics CSV need?
- persona: must exactly match a name from your personas CSV.
- query: the prompt itself, written as a natural question a real user would ask.
- topic1: the primary topic tag for this prompt.
- topic2, topic3, topic4, and so on: additional topic tags (optional).
Prompts can be associated with multiple topics, so you can add as many topic columns as you need. If you include only one topic per prompt in your CSV, that prompt will be tagged with just that single topic in your Visibility Audit, unless you add more topics later by editing the prompt directly.
How big can my upload be?
There is no hard limit on the number of rows you can send. That said, Visibility Audits start to slow down once they pass roughly 1,500 conversations (prompts multiplied by AI models). If you are planning a very large set of prompts, we recommend creating multiple Visibility Audits or a separate workspace for a very large audit so it does not drag down your other audits or your day-to-day navigation in the product.
Splitting large prompt sets across multiple focused Visibility Audits also gives you cleaner data and clearer levers for action. Separate audits per focus area (product or service line) and per geography tend to produce the most useful results.
