Not unless you want to. New AI models are added to Gumshoe regularly, and nothing changes in your projects when one arrives. Your Visibility Audit (formerly known as a report) keeps running exactly the models you already selected.
If you do want to track a new one, you add it yourself. Here is what to consider before you do.
Why isn't it added automatically?
Because adding a model changes both what your audit measures and what it costs, and that should be your decision rather than ours.
There is one exception. When a model you already run releases a newer version, Gumshoe moves you to it automatically, so you are never left measuring an outdated version of a model you chose. That is a version change, not a new model.
How do I find out what is available?
Open your project, click Settings in the left menu, and scroll to Model families. Everything available to you is listed there, and anything unticked is something you are not currently tracking.
Select the help icon next to any model to see what it is, who typically uses it, and whether it has live web search turned on in Gumshoe. Models with live search also show (Web Search) in the name.
That list is always current, which is why it is worth checking there rather than relying on a list written down somewhere else.
Should I add it?
A few things worth weighing:
- Who uses it. The tooltip describes the typical audience for each model. A model your buyers actually use is worth more to you than a model that is simply new.
- Whether it searches the web. Live search models reflect newly published content sooner and return the source URLs that feed your Citations. Models without it answer from training and return no sources. Tracking both tells you different things.
- What it costs. Every model you select answers every prompt, so adding one adds one conversation per prompt per run.
There is no need to add every model. A focused set you understand is more useful than a long list you cannot act on.
What happens to my scores if I add one?
They may move, and not because anything changed in the market. Your visibility score reflects the mix of models in your audit, so changing that mix makes the next run not directly comparable to the ones before it.
Treat the first run after the change as a new baseline. If you want to see what a new model says without disturbing a trend you are reporting on, add it at the start of a reporting period rather than partway through.
Does it apply to my other projects?
No. Model selection is per project, so adding a model in one project does not change any other. If you manage several brands, you will need to add it in each project where you want it tracked.
How do I actually add it?
Tick it in Model families and click Save at the bottom of the page. Your next scheduled audit uses the updated set. Runs that have already happened are not affected.
