A Visibility Audit (formerly known as a report) run happens when your prompts are sent to AI models and the models return answers. Each run generates new, live insights.
- A run means prompts sent to AI models, plus fresh answers returned.
- Runs always generate new, live insights.
- Past audits remain viewable, and new runs require an active subscription.
How does a run work?
When a Visibility Audit runs, Gumshoe doesn't reuse stored data. It performs a run and sends a live query to the selected AI models.
The steps involved in a run:
- You configure a Visibility Audit with your chosen focus, personas, topics, and prompts.
- You choose a plan and finalize the audit. This starts its subscription and kicks off the first run right away.
- Gumshoe sends your prompts to the AI models you selected (for example, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Perplexity).
- Each model generates answers to the prompts.
- Gumshoe collects, organizes, and analyzes those answers.
- The results are delivered back to you in a structured, insight-rich audit.
- After the first run, the audit runs again automatically on your plan's cadence.
Because a run involves live queries to AI models, it always generates fresh results. Your insights reflect the most current data those AI models are working from.
What are the different ways a run can happen?
- Initial run: When you choose a plan and finalize a Visibility Audit, its subscription starts and the first run happens right away. (When day scheduling is available, you will be able to choose the day the first run lands.)
- Scheduled run: After that, the audit runs automatically on each cycle of your plan's cadence.
- Unpausing: If you pause a subscription and later unpause it, that starts its runs again.
Will editing a Visibility Audit automatically trigger a run?
No. Editing a Visibility Audit does not trigger a run on its own, and your changes take effect on the next scheduled run. A run happens when you first finalize the audit and start its subscription, on each cycle of your plan's cadence, and when you unpause a paused subscription.
