Prompt History lets you dig into how AI models have answered a specific question across every report run. Instead of seeing a single snapshot, you get the full picture: how brands are ranked, how visibility shifts over time, and which models are driving those changes. If your positioning is moving, this is where you find out.
Where to Find It
Prompt History is accessible through Conversations in the left navigation of any report. From the Conversations view, click on any question card to open its Prompt History page.
What's on the Page
At the top of the page, Gumshoe shows you the total scope of data behind this question: how many times it was asked across report runs, how many models answered it, and how many brands were mentioned in those answers.
The Three Tabs:
- Summary gives you a ranked list of every brand that appeared in AI responses for this question, along with each brand's visibility percentage and rank across all runs. This is your at-a-glance competitive standing for that specific prompt.
- Answers shows a chronological list of AI responses by run date. For each run, you can see which models answered, how they ranked brands, and which sources they cited. There are also quick actions to copy a prompt and its responses or to generate content directly from the prompt.
- Trends visualizes how brand visibility and ranking have shifted over time. Three charts are available: brand visibility history across runs, the percentage of results where each brand ranked #1, and your brand's rank by individual model family. These charts make it easy to spot patterns, catch drops in visibility, and understand which models are most or least favorable to your brand.
Editing Competitors
You can customize which competitors appear using the Edit competitors option at the top of the Trends tab. This lets you focus the comparison on the brands most relevant to you rather than every brand that happened to appear in responses.
Taking Action from Prompt History
From any run in the Answers tab, you can click Generate content for this prompt to move directly into Gumshoe's content creation workflow. This connects what AI is saying about a specific question to the content you can create to influence future responses.
You can also copy a prompt and its full set of responses using the Copy prompt and responses button, which is useful for sharing findings with clients or team members.
