By default, Gumshoe compares your most recent run to the one right before it. If you would rather compare against an older run, for example, to see a bigger change over a longer stretch of time, you can choose which run to compare to. This works the same way in a Visibility Audit (formerly known as a report) and in a Pulse Audit, the recurring lighter run that lands between your full audits. You may also see a Pulse Audit called a Snapshot Audit.
How do I change which run I am comparing to?
- Open the audit.
- Near the top of the page, next to the run date, click the "Comparing to:" label. A window titled "Choose a run to compare to" opens.
- Choose None (no comparison, values are shown plainly), Previous run (the default), or any specific earlier run from the list.
- Scroll to the bottom of the run list and click Submit.
Why did my selection not apply?
The list holds every run the audit has, so on an audit with a long history, the Submit button sits below what fits on screen. Selecting a run highlights it, but nothing changes until you click Submit. If the numbers look the same after picking a run, scroll to the bottom of the list and click Submit.
What does this change?
This changes the comparison numbers and deltas shown throughout the audit, like the ones next to Brand visibility and the Competitive Leaderboard, not the audit itself. Your run history and the trends graph stay the same either way. The "Comparing to:" label always shows your current selection, so you can check at a glance what you are comparing against.
Can I remove or hide a run entirely?
Not yet. You can't delete runs, including ones you were billed for. If a specific run is throwing off your comparison numbers, choose a different run to compare to for a cleaner delta without removing anything.
Which audits have this option?
This is available for any audit with 2 or more runs. If you only have one run so far, there is nothing yet to compare to.
