A Visibility Audit (formerly known as a report) “run” happens when your prompts are sent to AI models and the models return answers. Each run generates new, live insights.
- A run = prompts sent to AI models, plus fresh answers returned
- Runs always generate new, live insights
- Past audits remain viewable; new runs require an active plan
How does a run work?
When you create or schedule a Visibility Audit in Gumshoe, the system doesn’t reuse stored data. It performs a run and sends a live query to the selected AI models.
The steps involved in a run:
- You configure a Visibility Audit with your chosen Business Focus, Personas, Topics, and Prompts, then click Run Report (the UI button label).
- Gumshoe sends those prompts to one or more AI models (for example, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity) depending on your selection.
- Each model generates answers to the prompts.
- Gumshoe collects, organizes, and analyzes those answers.
- The results are delivered back to you in a structured, insight-rich audit.
- If you schedule the audit to run on a recurring cadence, this process repeats automatically.
Because a run involves live queries to AI models, it always generates fresh results. Your insights reflect the most current data those AI models are working from.
What are the different ways a run can happen?
- New Visibility Audit: Creating a new audit and clicking Run Report triggers an immediate run.
- Scheduled Visibility Audit: Scheduling an audit triggers a separate run on each cycle of the cadence you set.
- Edited past Visibility Audit: Editing a past audit and clicking Run Report generates a new run with updated results.
Will editing a Visibility Audit automatically trigger a run?
No. A Visibility Audit only runs if you finalize and confirm it, or if you schedule it to happen on a recurring cadence.
