A Snapshot Audit (formerly known as a free sample report) is a smaller version of a Visibility Audit (formerly known as a report). It runs at about half the scale: fewer personas, topics, prompts, and AI models than a full Visibility Audit, which makes it lighter, faster, and lower-cost.

What’s included in a Snapshot Audit?
A Snapshot Audit includes everything you need to see Gumshoe in action:

How is a Snapshot Audit different from a full Visibility Audit?
A Snapshot Audit is about half the size of a full Visibility Audit. You get a real taste of Gumshoe’s insights at smaller scale:
- A Snapshot Audit runs across a subset of AI models. A full Visibility Audit runs across all major models, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and more.
- A Snapshot Audit uses a smaller, fixed set of personas, topics, and prompts. A full Visibility Audit generates a larger set and lets you add your own.
How do I run a Snapshot Audit?
When you first sign up for Gumshoe and start a new Visibility Audit in Gumshoe, you’ll reach a step called “Choose your report”. Select “Free sample report” to run the free Snapshot Audit. There’s no payment method required and no commitment. You’ll review your Analysis Focus, personas, topics, and prompts, then launch the run.
How much does a Snapshot Audit cost?
The Snapshot Audit included with every new Gumshoe account is free. Some contracted users will use Snapshot Audits in some of their workspaces and Gumshoe is developing a daily minitoring report that will essntially consist of a daily Snapshot Audit. Stay tuned for more on that soon!
What happens after my Snapshot Audit runs?
You’ll see your results, including the visibility score, Competitive Leaderboard, heatmaps, and Sources. If you ran the free Snapshot Audit included with your account, you’ll see a banner inviting you to upgrade to a full Visibility Audit. Upgrading keeps everything you’ve already built: the same personas, topics, and prompts carry over, and Gumshoe expands the audit with additional personas, prompts, and model coverage.
